Annual Fundraiser featuring Dr. John Torres - NBC Medical Correspondent

John Torres is NBC News’ Medical Correspondent. An Air Force Academy and University of New Mexico Med School graduate, Dr. Torres is an ER doctor in southern Colorado, where he got his start in TV news, contributing to KOAA. In 2009, Dr. Torres joined KUSA, the NBC affiliate in Denver, continuing as an emergency room physician, and opened a chain of Urgent Care practices in Colorado. Dr. Torres still teaches NATO Special Forces a variety of tactical combat casualty care, combat simulations and medical leadership. Additionally, throughout his career, Dr. Torres has made numerous humanitarian trips to Central and South America, providing medical care to children in need. Torres has been contributing to NBC News on all shows, including The Today Show and Nightly News as well as MSNBC, NBC News Now and other digital platforms. John is a New Mexico native and is fully bilingual. He currently resides in Colorado.
