Presentation Topic:

How COVID-19 Accelerated Telehealth Initiatives at HonorHealth?

In 2019, the HonorHealth Consumer Technology Committee developed a strategy around consumer digital engagement and telehealth. The workgroup, co-chaired by IT and Marketing leaders, knew that embracing this new technology and the concept of consumerism in healthcare was key to long-term success. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, HonorHealth was forced to accelerate this plan and compress years of work into a matter of months. Emily will share how her organization quickly pivoted to meet this challenge and provide details of the various telehealth solutions implemented this year as well as the challenges they encountered. She will also give her perspective on how the pandemic created a “new normal” for healthcare delivery in the US and what aspects of telehealth are here to stay.

Emily Borlas, AVP – IT Applications, HonorHealth

Emily has spent the last 15 years working in Healthcare IT on both the vendor and health system sides. She currently leads the IT Applications department at HonorHealth, an integrated health delivery network with 6 hospitals and over 75 outpatient clinics. Her team supports over 200 applications used across the health system.
