In 2019, the HonorHealth Consumer Technology Committee developed a strategy on digital engagement and telehealth. Emily Borlas will share how her organization quickly pivoted to meet this challenge and will provide details of the various telehealth solutions implemented this year as well as the challenges they encountered. She will also give her perspective on how the pandemic created a “new normal” for healthcare delivery in the US and what aspects of telehealth are here to stay.
In 2020, Forbes released its third annual list of the “Best Employers for Diversity” where Mayo Clinic has consistent ranked among the top 20 Hospitals and Health Systems and the top 75 Employers overall. As the need for diversity is greater than ever, Janina Hogans will share how local efforts are contributing towards Mayo Clinic’s organizational commitment to invest $100 million over the next 10 years to eliminate racism, advance equity and inclusion within Mayo Clinic, and improve health equity in the communities Mayo Clinic serves.
Emily Borlas, AVP – IT Applications, HonorHealth
Emily has spent the last 15 years working in Healthcare IT on both the vendor and health system sides. She currently leads the IT Applications department at HonorHealth, an integrated health delivery network with 6 hospitals and over 75 outpatient clinics. Her team supports over 200 applications used across the health system.
Janina Hogans - Specialty Collaborations and Contracts Clinical Operations Manager, Mayo Clinic Arizona
Janina Hogans has served Mayo Clinic for over 13 years. Her professional career includes roles as an Applications Technology Systems Senior Specialist with Epic Cadence and, most recently, Program Manager of Clinical Operations Arizona. Her enterprise-wide responsibilities include establishing fluidity of system processes in order to ensure that Mayo Clinic upholds contractual obligations with organizations and third party administrators. COVID-19 Brought a greater awareness to healthcare inequities. Janina will share how gathering pertinent data can work toward eliminating health disparities in the communities we serve. Also as Chair of eMERGing Leaders, an employee resource group of over 300 members, Janina will share how local efforts are contributing towards goals and an organizational commitment to invest $100 million over the next 10 years to eliminate racism, and advance equity and inclusion within Mayo Clinic, and improve health equity in the communities we serve.
